A shared guided hike is worth considering when you want to spread the cost of guiding across a group. The final quote depends on the route, group and arrangements. We confirm the quote before you decide whether to book; a lower price or a matching group is not guaranteed.

You can include the Huemul Circuit in your request. This challenging four-day trek needs a different plan from a day hike, so we review the full itinerary, your experience and the available dates personally.

Can I request a group if I am traveling alone?

Yes. You can send a request for one traveler. Couples and small parties can also request to join other hikers. A request gives us your plans so we can look for compatible travelers; it does not guarantee a group.

This service helps us arrange potential shared guided hikes. We review requests and contact you about a possible plan. We do not publish travelers’ names or contact details for others to browse.

No. The calendar shows anonymous interest. “Interested” and “Group forming” do not confirm a departure or available places. Flexible requests can appear on more than one date, and travelers considering several hikes can appear under more than one route.

 

The main hiking season in El Chaltén generally runs from October through April. December, January and February provide the longest daylight hours but also attract the most visitors. Spring and autumn can be quieter, although temperatures, snow conditions and available services may be less predictable.

Most travelers reach El Chaltén by flying into El Calafate. From there, it takes about 3 hours by bus, shuttle, or private transfer, traveling north along Ruta 40 and Ruta 23.

Some travelers also fly into Santiago International Airport (SCL), connect domestically to Punta Arenas, and continue overland into Argentina. The drive from Punta Arenas to El Chaltén usually takes around 7–8 hours.
